Karkala: Cops escape Naxals by Whisker

Karkala, Dec 21: The anti-naxal force had a narrow escape from suspected naxalites at Parangibail in the Mudradi GP limits near here on Wednesday December 20 morning.

The ANF police had set on intense combing operations after receiving sure tip-off about some Naxalites residing in the dense forest area in the Mudradi GP limits. The ANF police led by Subhash Gudimani however, could not nab Naxalites as the latter managed to escape by a whisker.

Police recovered cooking materials, water bottles and other things used by Naxalites at Parangibail. Though there was news that police had spotted a group of Naxalites and that they had surrounded them, could not be confirmed yet.

Police conducted combing operations at Adka, Peetabail, Balladi, Parangibail, Pariyalu and Thundugudde areas for almost 12 hours on Wednesday.

Karkala ASP Labu Ram, ANF troupes from Shankarnarayana, Kollur, Shringeri, Hebri, Karkala too were the part of the combing operations.
