Inspector held for murder of surrendered naxalite

HYDERABAD: Patancheru police inspector D Kishan Singh, his wife D Padma and his driver on Wednesday were taken into custody by the Special Operation Team (SOT) of the Cyberabad police for murdering a surrendered woman naxalite.

The accused Kishan Singh, his wife and driver confessed to murdering former CPI (Maoist) Medak District Committee Member P Nagamma alias Swarupa (30), on February 9, at his house in Prashantnagar in Vanasthalipuram.

After murdering Swarupa they dumped her body in the police van and set it on fire at an isolated place in Patancheru. Later the trio buried the burnt body. Swarupa's family members lodged a complaint with Vanasthalipuram police after Swarupa had gone missing.
