SAMBALPUR, June 12: Police took as a challenge to the frequent meetings and public contact of Maoists in the broad daylight in Kisinda and Naktideul area of Sambalpur. After a careful follow up, they have arrested a female Maoist cadre from Jurapali village under Naktideul police station. As per information from established sources, police engaged in the combing operation chased up five persons, including the arrested woman, while getting down from a bus. While all others managed to flee away, police could arrest only the woman near the Jurapali UP School, the police sources said.
As per information, after the death of the mother of this girl, her father left her in uncle’s house at Jurapli. But in course of time she got involved in Maoist activities. She was also one of the participants in the Maoists’ meeting at Hikipali. While police at Sambalpur refused to comment on record but some of them admitted the incident. n SNS
