Anti-naxal force takes youth into custody

SRINGERI: The anti-naxal team has taken into custody a youth seen wandering in a suspicious manner at Menasinahadya on Friday. He was caught in the nearby forest, police sources said.
Since he failed to give a convincing reply, the police got suspicious. The anti-naxal team has intensified its combing operation in the last two days after reports appeared in the media that the naxalites were moving freely in this region.
There was an encounter in Shankaranarayana police station limits of Udupi district a few days back.
Sources in the department have not yet confirmed the arrest of the youth.
