    Speaking of Thomas Jefferson, the American Maoist leader Bob Avakian has a truly amazing lecture on the legacies of Jeffersonian democracy.

    For those outside the USA, and we who are of this beast, this discussion of democracy and socialism is an in depth and rigorous investigation of the disctinction between bourgeois and proletarian dictatorship... as well as not consigning communist political work to choosing one or the other "elite" groups to back...

    Jefferson's legacy in the USA is very complicated. Both a radical democrat and a slave raper, Jefferson embodies the contradictions of American society in a person.
