CPI(M-L)Jana Shakti leader killed by cops in encounter

ANDHRA PRADESH: A naxal leader of CPI(ML) Jana Shakti group was killed on Wednesday in a shootout in Medak district of Andhra Pradesh, police said.

A special police party, led by Chegunta sub-inspector was on a combing operation in Bonala village this morning when they spotted a member of CPI (ML) Janashakati group, Manturi Nagabhushnam alias Sanjeev, who opened fire at it. In retaliatory fire, the naxal was killed, police said.

Sanjeev, a native of Mallupally village Chegunta, Medak district, was involved in more than 40 cases including murder, extortion, fire, assaults and kidnapping, police added.
