Rs 3 lakh each for 125 Maharashtra villages for banning Naxals` entry

Mumbai, Nov 24: Maharashtra cabinet today decided to award Rs three lakh to every village in Maoist-affected areas of state which bans entry of Naxals.

Under the scheme, Rs three lakh each would be given to 122 villages in Gadchiroli and three villages in Gondia districts.

"The decision has been taken in view of the relation of trust created between these villagers and the government which has helped curb Naxal activities in these areas," an official release said here.
